Of course, you’ll need to take some time out during your shopping spree to catch your breath and enjoy some light refreshments. You’ll find all of the usual chains like Costa and Starbucks in St Andrews but the town is also home to independent coffee shops like B Jannetta Gelateria. This is a lovely coffee and ice cream shop, where you can indulge in over 52 different flavours! It’s located on South Street and has rave reviews on Trip Advisor and various other websites.

Wining and dining in St Andrews

In the evenings, it’s likely that you and your lady friends will want to head out for a meal and drinks. St Andrews certainly isn’t short of fantastic places to wine and dine.

One of our favourite places to visit is Playfair’s Restaurant and Steakhouse, which is one of the oldest establishments in St Andrews. It offers delicious fine dining food in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. What’s more, the menu is made up of locally sourced produce, giving you the opportunity to experience the true taste of St Andrews.

If you fancy dining somewhere a little different, then be sure to book a table at the Doll’s House restaurant. This interesting establishment has been designed to look like a Victorian child’s bedroom with a contemporary twist. It’s a great place to head for locally sourced fish dishes and offers excellent value for money.

Spas in St Andrews

Of course, the perfect way to wind down on your girls’ weekend is to head to one of St Andrews’ many spas.

We highly recommend visiting Kohler Waters Spa, located at the Old Course Hotel. It’s the perfect place to relax and refresh your mind, whilst enjoying the therapeutic benefits of the waters.
