What’s on in St Andrews in December 2019

The Byre Theatre

It’s behind you! Start off your holiday season celebrations with a showing of Mother Goose at the Byre Theatre. The whole family will be entertained by Mother Goose’s adventures in trying to save Fantasia from evil. The panto will be on at the theatre from November 28th and all through December. The theatre will also be hosting the Scottish Chamber Orchestra (SCO) on December 18th. The SCO will perform a mix of contemporary and ancient music which focus on the Virgin Mary. The programme includes Sally Beamish’s enchanting In the Stillness and Cecilia McDowell’s special Ava Regina.

If you’re looking to escape reminders of the festive season, the Byre Theatre is showing classic French cinema as part of the 2019 French Film Festival, the Hunchback of Notre Dame is one of the films on the agenda.

St Andrews Art Club

Immerse yourself in the wonderful paintings produced by St Andrew’s Art Club. As part of their Winter Exhibition the Art Club’s members will be showcasing their works between Saturday 7th and Saturday 14th December. Founded in 1959 the Club has earned itself a reputation for the standard of work produced by its members.

Christmas Party Night

Get into the festive spirit by joining Fife’s number one commercial radio station Kingdom FM at their Christmas Party night at Rothes Hall. Situated half hour from St Andrews in Glenrohes, Rothes Hall is an entertainment venue located next to the Kingdom shopping centre. The Christmas Party Nights will take place on 13th and 14th December and includes a drinks reception, live band, photo booth and a tasty three course meal.
